Something New…

By Derowen Cut files

A little before all this craziness started I was able to check off an item from my wishlist… I finally got a cutting machine! I’ve been dreaming of having one for so long and felt like a little kid on Christmas morning! 😀

I immediately joined a few FB groups and soon had the pleasure of coming across Angela, the designer behind By Derowen. She’s the sweetest person and makes the cutest cut files.

She was looking for a few people to help her test a few designs and gave this newbie a chance!

I joined her team thinking of HTV and Vinyl projects but soon found myself cutting cardstock and loving it!

My first project was this cute little elephant, isn’t he adorable? <3

The Hello World text isn’t included with the SVG, I just typed it out on Designer Space with the font Stea.

For my next papercrafts, I stepped it up a little bit and tried my hand at 3d cards #feelingfancy 😉

I present to you:

SWEET BUNNY

SWEET BEAR

SWEET CAT

These were so much fun to make and photograph! I’m loving this new craft with some instant gratification results 😀

The Sweet Animals are all 3 layer files and super easy to cut and assemble. I used cardstock and 3D foam tape for in between the layers.

These files would also make a super cute shadow box! I’m dying to try my hand at them… Angela has some really cool ones in her shop (the Christmas windows and Halloween ones are my favorites!).

If you fell in love with all three files you can also get them as a Bundle 😉

I’ll be using these as cards to send a little cuteness to loved ones, but can you imagine how perfect they’d be as decor for a nursery? <3

Have you had enough cuteness already?
I hope not, as I have one more file to show you 😉

FAIRY HOUSE

A little whimsical fairy house in the forest… <3

I used holographic paper with it and love the extra depth it gave the cards. It’s so fun how you can change the look of it depending on which layer you choose to make pop.

Do you also make papercrafts with your Cricuts and Silhouettes? What are your favorite sources for SVGs?

I’m so enthusiastic about his new addition to my little crafting arsenal, especially at the current situation, I’m super grateful to have an extra tool to keep my mind and hands occupied and distract me from the noise of having a full house 24/7. Ha!
