Outerwear Blog Tour

YAY!
It’s that time of the month again, Winter Wear Designs Blog Tour!!

The theme outerwear couldn’t be more appropriate for the time of the year and I love jacket season! 😀
Last blog tour I made a Coat Dress using the Provence Pea Coat as a base, but WWD has so many great options that having made an outerwear already was no impediment for this tour.

This time I chose a  newer release, the Women’s Fashionista Jean Jacket.

I love the scoop neck of this jacket, it sets it apart from regular jean jackets and the exterior neck facing gives it the perfect finishing!

I made my jacket without pockets and made 7/8 sleeves instead of adding the placket and cuffs. I just wanted to have an “indoor jacket”, something that I could keep wearing during winter when somewhere indoors but could still fit underneath a winter coat when going outside… does that make sense?

The fabric is from a home decor store 😀 I love the print and it went perfectly with some vintage buttons that belonged to my mother in law.

If you feel intimidated by the idea of making a jean jacket, don’t! This one is intermediate level, but the instructions are great and aside from that pointy yoke, everything else is a breeze!
The yoke isn’t difficult per se, you just have to go very slow and pay extra attention to it.

It’s also a great way to exercise those topstitching skills! 😉

Side fact: My husband and I spent sometime yesterday arguing about the color of the fabric… I say it’s blue/gray and he says it’s “black and white”. So, tell me… he’s wrong isn’t him? lol 😛
