Love Dolman by Petite Stitchery & Co
I love a good Dolman, and Petite Stitchery’s new release is way up there among my favorites.
The Love Dolman features are
- Different sleeve options: Kimono, Slim and Long;
- Gathered bodice;
- Different hem finishes: Elastic, Band and Hemmed.
The gathered bodice sets this dolman apart from other tops of the same style. It’s blousier and open to so many possibilities qua fabrics and colors.
I used woven (peachskin) for the bodice of mine and it worked out perfectly. The yoke is sweater knit. My chosen options were Kimono Sleeve and Elastic hem finish.
Come spring, I’ll be wearing this non-stop for sure!
It’s an easy sew, the most difficult part is choosing the fabric combo. Ha!
I’ll be completely honest and say that at a first glance I didn’t think the pattern would be very flattering on me. I usually shy away from voluminous tops, but I’ve been surprised before so I just had to give this one a shot. I’m so glad I did
Seriously, nothing but love for the Love Dolman!
I’d say that this one works best with drapey fabrics, if the fabric is bulky it will have a balloon effect.
I’m looking forward to making one out of rayon knit, maybe all in one color for a different look! 😀 For now, all I’m sure of is that I need more of them!
