Blank Slate Patterns

Kirei Cami

I have a new wardrobe staple in my closet, the Kirei Camisole by Blank Slate Patterns.

It’s perfect for the warm summer days and for layering when it gets colder.
I know I mentioned it before when I posted about the Sapphire Tank, but I love LOVE being able to make my own fitted tops. The RTW ones just never work for me, due to my pear shape, I always have to choose between a loose bust and waist or have it rolling up at the hips. Well, never again!

Between the Sapphire (regular sleeveless) and the Kirei (spaghetti straps), I’m all set for all year round tanks!

If  a fitted top isn’t your thing, Kirei got you covered as well:

It comes with a Swing version as well! 😉 Nice!

Another great feature of this cami is the optional shelf bra. Yay for being braless but having everything nicely secure! 😀
Oh and the straps placement. I have narrow shoulders and am, usually, having to constantly readjust straps that keep sliding down. Zero fussing with the Kirei Camisole! SCORE!

As you can see, I chose to make the fitted version. As much as I adore all swing tops, they are just not a really flattering look on me *insert sad face here*.

I’m really so happy with this top and have already worn it so many times that it hasn’t seen the inside my closet yet… it went from the sewing machine to my body, to the laundry, and from the line back to my body again! 😀

It’s just so comfy! And did I mention, no bra?!

I had this panel for a while and it was just waiting for the perfect pattern. I believe it’s a rayon knit, it’s lightweight and buttery soft! For the shelf bra, straps and back panel I used swim fabric.

So, if you’re on the market for a pattern to make summer top (fitted or swingy) and/or a layering cami for the colder days, I highly recommend this one!
