Elevation Hoodie – New Horizons Designs
Things have been a bit hectic the past weeks and that’s kept me away from online and sewing life, but luckily I’m slowly but surely getting back to my regular life rhythm… and that includes sitting behind the sewing machine! Woot!
Gosh, I missed it!
I have so many late projects to share with you but will start with my latest sew because it feels good to be at it again. 😉
I sewed a new to me pattern by New Horizons, the Elevation Hoodie, and I LOVE it!
But to be honest, I wasn’t expecting anything else since every single sweater/hoodie I’ve ever made by NH is amazing. Summit Peak, Tami Revolution, Zenith, Knoxville… I truly love them all.
Summit Peak is especially loved by all members of my family. We all have at least one. 😉
The Elevation features chevron color blocking, welt kangaroo pockets and the choice between regular or thumbhole cuffs and between a hood or a cowl with the typical off-center eyelets (that I love!).
I opted to make the cowl version with thumbhole cuffs
The fabric I used is a FT with not a lot of stretch, so the sweater is a tiny bit snugger than the intended fit but I’m not mad at it. Like, at all!
The fabric is nice and warm and the sweater has the perfect fit for wearing underneath a jacket.
I’m obsessed with this fabric… the flowers are made of foil so it has this gorgeous shine to them without being too flashy. So pretty!
I’ve got quite a few questions about the grommet patches I’ve been using. I don’t make them, I buy them as-is and I prefer using them because I like the look and because I suck at hammering the regular kind (I really really want a table press :D).
I’m really really in love with this one. It was the perfect project to get me back on that sewing horse!
Beautiful and cozy fabric paired with a pattern with some of my favorite design elements…. color me happy!
Now I need to get more of this fabric and make more NH sweaters and hoodies and go enjoy my best warm and cozy winter life! 😛
