Bahama Bottoms

Bahama Bottoms – Sonia Estep Designs

I’m going to start this post by straight-up saying how much I love this pattern: A LOT!

Date night or lounging around, the Bahama Bottoms are the pattern to go with! Options include three shorts lengths and pants! Available in women’s sizes 00-30.

That statement is very true!
The pattern has different length options (from short shorts to pants), optional front/back pockets, and drawstring. AND it can be made with both woven and knit fabrics!

I chose to make the 3.5″inseam shorts and used double gauze. OMG, these are seriously the most comfortable bottoms ever.

Why haven’t I used this fabric for bottoms before?
I may have a need for an entire wardrobe made of it.

I’m super impressed with how well rounded the instructions are. There’s a fitting guide to help you adjust it for a great customized fit, it’s such a great tool.

I love the front patch pockets. They’re the perfect size and I prefer this style to inseam ones because they don’t bunch up when moving.

I didn’t add the back pockets to this one, but will definitely do so when making the trousers.

I paired the Bahamas with a straight hem Maggie.
I shortened it to have it hit right below the waistband of the shorts and love how the set came out.

Maggie is a FREE for group members pattern, you can read more about it HERE.

The fabric I used is a By Lisan CL.
I’m usually not great at mixing prints, but somehow these two just work together. <3
