Arabella, always perfect!

Arabella Skirt

The Arabella is one of those pieces that always makes me happy when I ‘m wearing it. I don’t know why… it just does!

This has to be one of my favorite Rebecca Page’s patterns. It’s simple to make, doesn’t take long to sew together and like I said, it makes me smile. Something about that bow… 😉

Something else to love about this skirt, due to the nature of the gathers there’s no need for me to grade it up at the hips! I just go by waist measurement.

The patterns options are:

  • Above knee, knee and maxi lengths;
  • Optional Sash (aka pretty, pretty bow);
  • High or regular waistband;
  • Optional pockets.

This one is above the knee length-ish, I cut the knee length didn’t find it really flattering on me so I eyeballed the new length and chopped it. Other options chosen were high waistband, sash, and pockets.

The fabric I used is a mystery woven… I ordered it as “Jacquard Stretch” but it has zero vertical stretch and very very little mechanical horizontal stretch.

I couldn’t use it for my initial intended project, but it turned out to be the perfect choice for this skirt. <3

This is a very versatile pattern, play with different fabrics and different lengths and you can wear an Arabella for any occasion! Check out the maxi I made out of silk satin to wear to my brother’s wedding HERE.

Arabella is just the best! <3
