Stevie Skirt

I’m having an especially tiresome week, my son has tests all week long at school and I’ve been doing my best to support, help and butt-kick when necessary. And let me tell you… the mix of having to brush off on junior high stuff (in Dutch) and deal with pre-teen attitude is enough to drive me bonkers!  And since I’m on a diet and avoiding alcohol, sewing is the next best thing to keep me sane!

I needed an easy and fast project for some instant gratification, and Stevie Skirt by Rebecca Page was perfect!

A knit A-line skirt, it comes in 4 different lengths (above knee, knee, midi and maxi) and it’s incredibly flattering and comfortable.

I don’t know about you, but usually, when I think knit skirt, a casual look comes to mind. But I was pleasantly surprised when I used this snake print leather knit and saw that it makes an awesome date night outfit! And that for 20-minute work (and that’s counting re-threading my serger)!

I made the knee version and graded from size L to XXL. I did take in a tiny bit at the waist because I wanted the skirt to sit at my natural waist rather than around the belly button.

The top I’m wearing is RTW.
The skirt fabric I purchased online, I think, almost 2 years ago. It’s been waiting for the perfect project! 😉

The leather look really makes it ideal for fall and winter! Plus it’s a bit velvety inside, so it’s also warm! I so happy with it!

If you’re looking for an easy and fast sewing fix, I highly recommend the Stevie Skirt! It’s also a great beginners project!

And now I’m off to bed before I start babbling nonsense due to tired mommy brain! haha
