Boulevard Skirt and Double Take Tank by WWD

I’m so excited about this one! 😀

For last month’s ReSEWlution blog tour I mashed the Satara and the Crop Dresses to make this super cute placket skirt. Suzanne like it so much that she turned it into a pattern! Woot!

Meet the Boulevard Skirt:

Plenty of fun options:

Maxi lengths (36, 38, 40, 42, & 44 inch outseam lengths);
Below Knee length;
Knee Length;
Optional High Low;
Optional Pocket;
Contoured Waist Band with wide or narrow width to fit at either your higher natural waist or lower on your hips;
Fully Functional Front Placket or Front Placket with Waistband Extension and Fly Shield.

I just had to make a Maxi right away!
I used a silk/satin bland and omitted the pockets because the fabric is finicky and I decided to avoid the hassle. lol

The maxi option is a bit of a fabric hog, as it takes about 4 yd, but it’s oh so worth it.

I graded the waistband from my waist (4) to my high-hip size (10) and cut the skirt size 10. The fit is perfect!

The top I had in mind pairing the skirt with made the outfit have a bit of a formal vibe due to the fabric choice, and as I want to wear this skirt during summer, I whipped up a crop top using the Double Take Tank pattern.

I love the idea of a racer back woven tank.
I have one racer back, shirttail hem tank all cut and ready to go, but this other project got me side tracked… Sounds familiar to anyone else?

I didn’t have any woven at hand that matched the fabric I used for the Boulevard, so I made it out of knit.

I sized one down and got the not too tight crop top I was aiming for.
If you’d like to give a knit Double Take a go and want it more fitted, I’d go 2 sizes down.

I think the outfit turned out so cute!
Now I only need warm summer days and find the guts to actually wear the crop top out of the house at the age of 42! lol
