Manhattan Peplum High-Low

Manhattan Peplum & Dress

If you’ve been here before, you know I just HAD to make a high-low version of this pattern! I can’t resist a good high-low! 😀

OMG… I’m obsessed with this one! Seriously obsessed!
I used the same type of fabric that I used for the Portlander/Marbella/Key West set. It’s a woven with a lot of horizontal stretch (Bengaline).

I LOVE the volume it gave the peplum!
As I’ve mentioned on my other Manhattan Peplum post, this New Horizons pattern comes with a lot of options:

For this one I chose shirt length, regular back, cap sleeves and lined bodice.

Just like the other peplum, I made a size 12 bust graded to size 10 waist.
My fabric didn’t have any vertical stretch, so to account for that I lowered the armscye by 1/2″. That was the only modification I’ve made.

Also should probably note that the lack of vertical stretch made this top look a bit shorter. But I really really reaaaallllyyyyy like it as is! 😉

This bodice fits like a glove and because it’s fully lined I can rock it bra-free! Woot!

The boatneck was also affected by the different fabric. This one is closer to the neck, my other one is more open. It’s always interesting to me how different fabrics behave!

If you’re still looking for that perfect dress or top for the Holidays Festivities, I’d highly recommend the Manhattan! Some of the high-low dresses I’ve seen have me drooling and itching to make one (or ten!)!
